I hope you don’t mind me interrupting without a calendar catch up ….
I wanted to take some time to check in with you…..
is now a suitable time?
The staff member looked up from the monitor, nodding in agreement.
“I won’t take long.
I know you are busy, and the deadline for this project is tight.
That being said- I wanted to come and say thank you in person:
I’m aware of the contributions you are making for the team.
I’m aware of the behind the scenes work…
I see the emotional depth of work you are contributing…
and I also see your leadership shine through as you help staff keep up….
I want to take a minute and ask how our company and team can help you in achieving your own goals?
Is there something you’d like to achieve in your personal or professional life that our network can help you with?
Is there something I can do which would make your life better, easier or more fulfilled, which you haven’t yet communicated to me?
The two sat looking at each other with respect, before the desk worker nodded thinking of the vast possibilities.
“Thank you for asking, your offer is generous and kind…”
The red head smiled warmly before the worker continued on.
“I have to finish what I am working on before lunch, but if it suits I will schedule an appointment later this afternoon?”
The woman nodded in agreement.
As you wish.”
